GOJO Public Transportion

GOJO Public Transportion is a campaign for the Disability rights commission. They encourage young people that are disabled to use public transportation, because many young disabled people lack the confidence to use public transportation like those who are not disabled. The goals of GOJO include:

  • To make those more confident with taking journey’s on public transportation by disabled individuals ages 16 to 25.
  • To increase the awareness about rights in the discrimination laws that affect public transportation
  • To increase the traffic to information points on disability and travel issues.

The first step in the GOJO campaign is to understand the issues:

  • It is scary
  • Don’t know local routes
  • The operators will not help you
  • Don’t know anyone else who uses it

Pros of GOJO:

  • Can provide advice to make it less scary
  • Can provide the local information you may need
  • Operators are now to provide you with support
